Johannesburg, South Africa: Club Car has appointed AFGRI Equipment as its new official distributor in South Africa.

AFGRI Equipment will supply the entire range of Club Car golf, utility and consumer vehicles to its extensive network of customers via 32 dealerships across South Africa.

Founded in 1923, AFGRI has grown rapidly in recent years, providing premium equipment to the golf and turf, construction, agriculture and forestry industries. It is the largest distributor for John Deere outside North America, and has significantly grown its market share in golf and turf over the last three years.

“AFGRI is synonymous with the core Club Car values of building relationships and delivering quality which is why they are a natural fit to offer our vehicles,” said Nicolas Le Glas, Regional Sales Manager Middle East and Africa at Club Car, an Executive Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

He added: “AFGRI has a widespread presence across South Africa and is a trusted partner to some of the largest organisations in South Africa for good reason. Their reputation for supplying innovative and reliable products and delivering unrivalled customer and aftersales service in South Africa is unmatched.

“South Africa is a market with great potential for Club Car. We are excited to work with AFGRI to develop new relationships and share our world-class products in South Africa and further into sub-Saharan Africa.”

Patrick Roux, Managing Director of AFGRI Equipment said: “We are excited to represent and build on the Club Car brand throughout our AFGRI Equipment footprint. The synergies with our business as a leading golf and turf equipment supplier are immense.

“It completes the package we can offer to courses, industries, and individuals with the premium brand of Club Car vehicles. Together with this, we can leverage our innovative financing, leasing, and rent-to-own models to make a significant impact on the market.”

In South Africa, Club Car counts golf venues such as Leopard Creek, Fancourt and St Francis Links among its many long-term customers.
