Phnom Penh, Cambodia: Flagstick Golf Course Construction Management President Martin Moore believes Chhun On Golf Resort is primed to become one of the region’s foremost golfing destinations.
Moore and golf course architect Brian Curley, Principal at Curley-Wagner Golf Design, were among the VIPs in attendance at the official Partnership Agreement Signing Ceremony between Chhun On Golf Resort and the PGA of Great Britain & Ireland (PGA of GB&I).
Also present were Oknha Chhun On, Chief Executive Officer at Chhun On Golf Resort, and Oknha Chetna Chhun, the resort’s Managing Director.
Moore said: “Flagstick is proud to have played an integral role in the construction of Chhun On Golf Resort, working alongside Brian Curley to bring this remarkable vision to life.
“The partnership with the PGA of Great Britain & Ireland marks a significant milestone for golf development in Cambodia and Southeast Asia.”
Located just outside Phnom Penh, Chhun On Golf Resort features 36 holes, the Lakes Course and the Palm Course, along with a unique Cambodia-shaped island-style 19th hole celebrating the nation’s geography and cultural heritage.
“Envisioned to become one of Southeast Asia’s premier golf destinations, the resort seamlessly combines championship golf with iconic Cambodian themes and architecture,” said Moore.
The quality of the golf experience has earned praise from Duncan Rougvie, the PGA of GB&I’s Head of Commercial.
He said: “Both courses are stunning. The Lakes Course feels slightly more welcoming, while the Palm Course promises to be a true championship challenge. We look forward to tourists enjoying them, to members and locals playing here, and to one day seeing elite play broadcast globally. The design ensures that everyone – from beginners to elite golfers – can enjoy a round at Chhun On.”
