Singapore: Not only is Kiradech Aphibarnrat feeling good after a welcome return to form, but the Thai stalwart is looking good, too.
Sporting Fenix attire, Kiradech was edged out in a sudden-death play-off at last week’s Porsche Singapore Classic at Laguna National Golf Resort Club.
Despite the disappointment of narrowly missing out on his first DP World Tour title for six years, Kiradech was in bullish mood as he reflected on his performance.
Kiradech, a Brand Ambassador with Fenix, who are partners with Golfasian, said: “My ball-striking was insane. I feel like I’m back to where I was. The putter on the second round and third round wasn’t hot enough. But anyway, I know that I got something in me that really pulled me out of a tough spot with my back against the wall.
“I know that I need to do it and I’ve showed it, I can do it. So, I just need everything to come back on the same road again … and winning is the goal for me this season.”
Thanks to his runner-up finish in Singapore, Kiradech was the biggest mover on last week’s Official World Golf Ranking, soaring almost 200 spots from 441st to 257th. He also moved into 31st position, up from 122nd, on the DP World’s Race to Dubai.
Among those on hand in Singapore to congratulate Kiradech, on his golfing revival was Mark Siegel, Managing Director at Golfasian.
He said: “Kiradech who once ranked 29th in the world, has been going through a tough patch for the past few years. However, we supported him and now it is wonderful to see him jumping up the rankings and our Fenix golf shirts are getting great exposure, too.”
