Hong Kong SAR, China: Local heroine Tiffany Chan will be welcomed back to the Hong Kong Golf Club (HKGC) with open arms when she lines up in next month’s inaugural Aramco Team Series presented by PIF – Hong Kong.

Chan will bring a distinct local flair to the tournament when it takes place at the HKGC – her home club – from October 6-8.

“Tiffany is a great talent, and it’s an honour that she will be able to represent Hong Kong Golf Club at such a prestigious global event,” said Andy Kwok, Captain of HKGC, a Facility Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

“Her journey from our course to the international stage is a source of inspiration for young golfers in Hong Kong. Tiffany’s presence adds a special dimension to this world-class event, and we look forward to seeing her shine as she takes on some of the world’s best,” added Kwok.

With the advantage of playing on her home course and crowd support, Chan is eager to make her mark in the US$1 million event that is headlined by world number two Lilia Vu, world number four Ko Jin-young and Chinese stars Lin Xiyu and He Muni.

Chan said: “I can’t wait to tee off against the world’s best in such a unique playing format on my home course, in one of the most prestigious global golf events to grace Hong Kong. Knowing the course gives me an advantage, and I hope to turn that advantage into victory.”

The Aramco Team Series presented by PIF – Hong Kong is the fourth stop of the global golf series.

The event will see 28 teams of four – three professionals and one amateur – competing over two days at the Hong Kong Golf Club for the Aramco Team Series presented by PIF team title, while a three-day individual stroke play contest will see the 78-player field competing for the individual title along with valuable ‘Race to Costa del Sol’ and Rolex Women’s World Golf Ranking points.

Chan’s journey to the international golf stage is a tale of inspiration. Born in Hong Kong, the 30-year-old made history when she became the first player from the region to earn an LPGA Tour card.

Before embarking on her LPGA journey in 2018, Chan showcased her prowess on the Epson Tour, making the cut in nine out of 13 starts, which included four top-10 finishes, highlighted by her season-best performance at the Decatur-Forsyth Classic.

In the five years that Chan has competed on the LPGA Tour, she had her best showing last year, securing two top-10 finishes, including a standout tied fourth finish at the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational.

Before turning professional in 2017, Chan won twice on the Taiwan LPGA Tour and also captured back-to-back NJCAA individual national titles at Daytona State College in 2014 and 2015.

Chan has represented Hong Kong on the grandest stages, participating in both the 2016 and 2020 Olympics, and she’s also lining up in this week’s 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou.

Tickets for the Aramco Team Series presented by PIF – Hong Kong are now available for purchase online via the official distributor Ticketflap. General admission tickets are free for October 6 and priced at HK$150 (about US$20) for October 7-8. Additionally, admission is free all weekend for attendees under the age of 18.
