Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: For a career defined by vision, leadership and an unwavering commitment to excellence, Andrew Johnston has been honoured with the Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF) Lifetime Achievement Award.
General Manager and Director of Agronomy at Singapore’s award-winning Sentosa Golf Club, Johnston was feted during the AGIF Golf Awards Dinner at the Sime Darby Conference Centre.
In its citation, the AGIF said: “Andrew Johnston has helped establish Sentosa Golf Club as a benchmark for golf course presentation, operational excellence and environmental responsibility. His career brings together a rare depth of experience in agronomy, golf course design and club management.
“Just as importantly, he has shared his knowledge with the next generation of turf professionals, championed innovation and sustainability, and served the Asian golf industry through many years of involvement with the AGIF Board.
“His legacy is not simply the standard of the courses he has helped shape. It is the higher standard he has encouraged the entire industry to pursue.”
The AGIF’s Lifetime Achievement Award honours an individual whose leadership has left a lasting mark on the golf industry and whose influence will continue to be felt for years to come.
In accepting the award, Johnston said: “I am deeply humbled, incredibly grateful, and still a little overwhelmed to receive this award.
“This is an honour I never imagined receiving, and one that means more to me than words can express.

“A lifetime in golf has given me so much more than a career. It has given me friendships, opportunities, challenges and the privilege of working alongside some truly remarkable people.
“No one reaches a moment like this alone. Behind every achievement are people who believed in you, supported you and helped you become better along the way. I share this recognition with every one of you.
“To my Sentosa family, the past 16 years have been an extraordinary chapter in my life. Thank you for your trust, your friendship and the opportunity to dream big and pursue things that once seemed impossible. What we have achieved together is something I will always treasure.
“Thank you to the Asian Golf Industry Federation for this wonderful honour and for an evening I will never forget. The award may have my name on it, but the journey belongs to so many.”
