Lobb + Partners Aligns with AGIF

London, England: Lobb + Partners, a multi-discipline practice providing comprehensive golf development services for golf course design, master planning, architecture and landscape architecture, has joined the Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF).

Headquartered in London and with offices in Canada and Korea, the company is led by Tim Lobb, whose career as a golf course architect spans more than two decades and includes in excess of 50 projects throughout the world with on-going jobs in North America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

“As we look to expand our presence in Asia, we’re pleased to align with the Asian Golf Industry Federation,” said Lobb, a member of the Society of Australian Golf Course Architects and immediate Past President of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects (2021-2023).

Chris Gray, AGIF President, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Tim and Lobb + Partners to the Federation and look forward to his participation in our forthcoming events.”

After completing a B.Sc. in Horticulture at Melbourne University in Australia in 1993, focusing on turf and golf course management, Lobb began working with golf course architect Ted Parslow as a design associate.

Based in both the Australian and Malaysian offices. Lobb quickly gained experience in all facets of golf course and resort development and the value of accepting, respecting and appreciating the local culture and landscape.

In 1998, he joined the London-based practice of European Golf Design (EGD). In his six years with EGD, he was responsible for designing internationally recognisable golf resort developments in Ireland, Turkey, Finland, Portugal, Spain, Russia, Bulgaria, England, Wales, St Kitts & Nevis and the Czech Republic.

From 2004-2016, Lobb was Principal Architect and Managing Director of Thomson Perrett & Lobb, the golf course design firm founded by five-time Open champion Peter Thomson.

During that time the firm designed new golfing facilities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Additionally, the company was responsible for the renovation/restoration of historically important golf courses such as St Georges Hill, The Berkshire, Woking, Wimbledon Park, The Richmond, Burhill and Royal Jersey and, more recently, the complete modernisation of The Buckinghamshire.

In 2016, following the retirement of Thomson and with his encouragement, Lobb formed Lobb + Partners to service on-going Thomson Perrett & Lobb projects as well as gaining future golf course design commissions.

Lobb said: “With a renewed drive and enthusiasm for innovative course design and development, we remain dedicated to delivering high-quality standards of design and services. At Lobb + Partners we seek to leave a legacy with each and every project we complete.”
