Scottsdale, Arizona, United States: Troon has been selected to manage The Club at Sea Palms located in St Simons Island, Georgia.
Troon will manage the golf operations, golf course agronomy, and membership marketing, while Aimbridge Hospitality will operate Sea Palms Resort including its world-class accommodations, recreation facilities, restaurant and conference centre.
The Club at Sea Palms’ 18-hole course is open to resort, daily-fee and member play. Georgia native George Cobb originally designed the 6,608-yard, par-71 course in 1967.
A 2019 renovation put the shine back on the Golden Isles’ course, which meanders through live oaks, towering pines and Spanish moss covered trees, amid the beautiful low country terrain.
“We feel privileged to be entrusted by RREAF Holdings at The Club at Sea Palms as they seek to further elevate the quality of the golf and hospitality experience for all members and hotel guests,” said Joe Langford, Vice President of Operations at Troon, an Executive Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.
In addition to the championship course, The Club at Sea Palms features a practice range, multiple tennis courts, a fitness centre and The Miracle, a members-only practice facility.
The Sago at Sea Palms restaurant is located in the clubhouse and features a menu for all tastes, from southern classics to coastal favorites. Guests can choose to sit poolside on the outdoor patio or in the dining room for lunch, dinner, and cocktails.
“RREAF selected Troon to manage the golf operations as part of our and our co-owner DLP Capital’s continued commitment to best-in-class service. The Sea Palms Resort has experienced increased demand in recent years, and we have significant plans to improve the quality and experience for both the members and guests,” said Kip Sowden, CEO of Dallas-based RREAF Holdings that owns the Sea Palms Resort.
