Singapore: The Singapore Island Country Club (SICC) has launched ‘Donate & Drive’, a first-of-its-kind fund-raising initiative as part of its SICC May Day Charity 2026, marking the charity’s 55th anniversary.

Held in partnership with the President’s Challenge, the initiative invites members, guests and the public to contribute towards a meaningful cause while standing a chance to win a brand-new GAC Hyptec (Gullwing) electric vehicle, sponsored by VINCAR Group and valued at over S$124,000 (excluding COE).

From April 8 to May 9, every S$20 donation earns a qualifying entry, with contributors of S$300 receiving three additional bonus chances. The draw will take place on May 9 at the Island Clubhouse, marking a key highlight of the club’s fund-raising campaign.

Beyond this initiative, the SICC May Day Charity continues a distinguished legacy of giving established in 1972 under Presidential patronage. The club is honoured to have President Tharman Shanmugaratnam as Guest of Honour at the Gala Dinner on May 1 at the Island Grand Ballroom.

Over the course of more than five decades the charity has raised in excess of S$28 million, benefiting over 100 charitable organisations across Singapore. Building on the success of 2025, which raised close to S$2 million for 10 beneficiaries, SICC remains steadfast in its mission to uplift lives and strengthen communities.

This year’s charity adopts a dual framework of giving. Proceeds from ‘Donate & Drive’ will support the President’s Challenge, while all other funds raised will be channelled towards 13 beneficiary organisations serving under-served communities.

Lam Zhiqun, Organising Chairman of the SICC May Day Charity 2026, said: “The 2026 edition is a testament to the enduring legacy of the club’s philanthropic spirit. While we aim to sustain our fund-raising momentum, the true measure of our success lies in the strength of our collective impact. By uniting our members and partners, we are fostering a resilient community of care that will continue to uplift Singapore’s social service landscape for years to come.”

SICC May Day Charity 2026 is supported by a range of club-wide initiatives, providing members, guests and partners with multiple avenues to contribute meaningfully to the cause.

The club will also host charity golf tournaments on May 1. These tournaments form a key pillar of the fund-raising programme, bringing together sport and philanthropy.

Beyond golf is a diverse calendar of fringe activities designed to engage members and guests across a wide range of interests. From racquet sports to wellness initiatives, each activity contributes to the overall fund-raising effort while fostering community participation. The club also welcomes corporate partners to join in this initiative, further extending the reach and impact of the charity.

At the heart of the SICC May Day Charity 2026 are 13 beneficiary organisations dedicated to uplifting under-served communities across Singapore.

Ian Roberts, General Manager of SICC, said: “One of our core missions for 2026 is to serve as a voice for the quietest corners of our society. Through our partnership with the President’s Challenge and our dedicated support for 13 beneficiary organisations, we are committed to ensuring that the most vulnerable in our community are seen and supported.
