Jupiter, Florida, United States: Troon President and CEO Tim Schantz and Toro Group Vice President of Commercial and International Brad Hamilton have been elected to senior positions at the National Golf Foundation (NGF).

While Schantz has taken over as Vice Chairman, Hamilton has assumed the role as Secretary and Treasurer.

The NGF also welcomed GOLFTEC President and CEO Joe Assell and AHEAD USA CEO Anne Broholm to a diverse Board of Directors that spans the broad spectrum of the golf business.

Assell has built GOLFTEC into one of the industry’s most successful stories over the past 25 years, establishing a global brand that’s shaped modern golf instruction at more than 220 training centres worldwide.

Under Assell’s leadership, GOLFTEC has become the world’s second-largest employer of PGA professionals.

Broholm since 2012 has been CEO of AHEAD, which provides headwear, apparel and accessories to green grass golf shops, resorts, and professional golf tournaments nationwide as well as the corporate market.

One of the top female executives in the golf industry, Broholm spent seven years as Vice President of the Golf Division of Cutter & Buck prior to her current role at AHEAD, which is a leading supplier of headwear to the USGA, PGA of America, Ryder Cup, and numerous PGA Tour events.

The appointments of Assell and Broholm, effective from January 1, add broader perspective to the NGF’s efforts to foster the growth and vitality of the game and the business of golf.

Additionally, PING President John K. Solheim was appointed Chairman of the NGF’s Board of Directors, succeeding PGA Tour Superstore President and CEO Dick Sullivan, who remains on the Board after completing a two-year term as Chairman.

Other members of the NGF Board of Directors are TaylorMade President and CEO David Abeles, Hall of Fame golfer Annika Sorenstam, who founded the ANNIKA Foundation after her playing career and is the current President of the International Golf Federation, and media executive Mike McCarley, the former President of Golf & Global Strategy for NBC Sports Group and now an Advisor at Comcast SportsTech Accelerator.
