Bangkok, Thailand: Rain Bird Golf has named Links Turf Equipment, Ltd as its golf product distributor covering all of Thailand.

Links Turf Equipment provides an extensive range of golf products and services for golf courses, including consultation, construction, maintenance and renovation.

“Thailand is a re-emerging market in the golf course industry. A number of new courses are scheduled to open over the next 12-18 months, and many existing courses built in the 1990s are undergoing renovations,” said Mark Donohue, Regional Sales Manager for Southeast Asia at Rain Bird Golf, an Executive Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

“Links Turf Equipment has built a strong reputation in the Thai golf market over the past 10 years, and by working with them, we anticipate being able to provide Rain Bird Golf irrigation products to these new and upgraded courses throughout the country,” added Donohue.

Links Turf Equipment, Ltd was founded by Gavan Wilson in 2009. Wilson and his son, Blair, are now partners in the distributorship. Having lived in the country since 1989, Gavan Wilson has a strong knowledge of the Thai golf industry, with involvement in more than 50 golf course projects over the years.

Together, the Wilsons have assembled a strong team of Thai golf industry experts with multiple decades of experience in sales, irrigation installation and construction that they will now leverage to promote and sell Rain Bird Golf products.

“We’re pleased to now represent Rain Bird’s outstanding line of golf course irrigation products,” said Gavan Wilson, Director of Links Turf Equipment, Ltd, an Associate Business Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

“We have an outstanding staff, and we can offer a full spectrum of services, which is our biggest advantage in the market. Now, by working with Rain Bird, we’re able to offer some of the world’s best golf course irrigation products.

“That partnership will benefit our clients by helping them keep their courses both beautiful and more playable in Thailand’s increasingly competitive golf course industry.”
