PacificPine Sports Launches First PGA Academy in Shanghai

Shanghai, China: PacificPine Sports, China’s premier multi-sports youth academy and exclusive operator of the PGA Youth Development golf academies in Greater China, has entered a long-term partnership with Lanhai International Golf Club to open a new PGA Learning and Performance Centre.

Lanhai is one of China’s premier private clubs with two 18-hole Jack Nicklaus-designed courses and dedicated academy facilities, including an academy practice range, putting green and short game area in addition to similar facilities for members. The partnership will provide club members and junior golfers access to industry leading PGA-certified coaches and world-class facilities.

Billy Martin, Director of Instruction and PGA Member, will lead the professional team at the PGA Learning and Performance Centre, which will offer a full range of services including private and elite training, group clinics and holiday golf camps.

“As our first entrance into the Shanghai market, PacificPine Sports is delighted to partner with a facility that offers such an exceptional golfing and learning environment and we are looking forward to working together to help promote golf in the region,” said Raymond Roessel, Co-CEO of PacificPine Sports, a Full Business Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

“Our goal is to provide junior golfers access to the best coaches and facilities to help them reach their full potential so we couldn’t be happier to partner with Lanhai, who also share our core values,” he added.

Located a short drive outside the city centre along the Yangtze River on Chongming Island, Lanhai offers stunning natural views from both their Forest and Links-style golf courses. Junior players will also benefit from having access to these first-rate facilities.

Joey Garon, General Manager at Lanhai International Golf Club, said: “We are excited to now be able to offer our current and future members direct access to China’s best golf academy. We are always looking to provide exceptional quality and service so I am looking forward to working with PacificPine Sports, who will bring their knowledge as industry leaders to help us continue to grow our reputation as one of China’s top golfing destinations.”

In addition, TaylorMade and adidas Golf will continue their support of PacificPine Sports and become official partners at the PGA Learning and Performance Centre at Lanhai.

Ken Yao, General Manager of TaylorMade in Greater China and Southeast Asia, said: “TaylorMade is thrilled to partner with PacificPine Sports to develop and grow the game of golf in China while supporting PGA professionals. PGA Professionals are the highest calibre coaches and will elevate the students’ game to the highest level.”
