Hanoi, Vietnam: The head of Vietnam’s National Authority of Tourism has lauded the partnership between Vietnam Golf & Leisure (VGL) and the Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF).

This week’s Vietnam Golf Industry Conference was staged in collaboration between the AGIF and VGL. The gathering, which attracted more than 150 industry members from around the region, also included a variety of networking activities and the 20th anniversary edition of the Vietnam Golf Awards.

Addressing guests at the Gala Dinner at Hanoi’s Grand Plaza Hotel, Nguyen Trung Khanh, Chairman of Vietnam’s National Authority of Tourism, praised the VGL for broadening the scope of the Awards by aligning with the AGIF, thus helping to further establish Vietnam as a key player in the regional golf market.

He said: “The Vietnam National Authority of Tourism highly appreciates the role of Vietnam Golf & Leisure magazine in initiating and sustaining these awards, conducting on-site assessments, promoting golf courses and destinations, and encouraging golf facilities and businesses to continually enhance the quality of their services.

“In particular, the partnership between Vietnam Golf & Leisure and the Asian Golf Industry Federation in 2026 has added further significance to the programme. The industry conference, B2B networking activities, and the showcase of products, technologies and solutions have transformed the event from an awards ceremony into a practical forum connecting Vietnam with the regional and global golf community.

“The Vietnam National Authority of Tourism will continue to support industry collaboration, product development and the promotion of Vietnamese golf tourism in key international markets with the aim of fostering a professional, effective and sustainable sector.”

Khanh’s sentiments were echoed by Pham Tien Van, a distinguished Vietnamese diplomat, a prominent advocate for the development of golf in Vietnam and Chairman of VGL.

He said: “In 2026, VGL entered a new stage of development by joining with the Asian Golf Industry Federation to organise the Vietnam Golf Industry Conference here in Hanoi, bringing together the industry conference, B2B meetings and display, the Awards Gala and networking golf day.

“Through these activities, VGL continues to connect Government authorities, international organisations, businesses, golf courses and the golfing community, while helping promote Vietnam golf across the region and around the world.”
