Singapore: The Singapore Island Country Club (SICC) welcomed 228 golfers to the newly redeveloped The Island Course for its annual Ladies’ Open, one of the club’s most anticipated sporting and social events.

Combining competitive golf with vibrant themed celebrations, this year’s Wild Wild West edition reflected the unique camaraderie and community spirit that have made the Ladies’ Open a long-standing highlight on the club’s golfing calendar.

Played in a Modified Stroke Play and Stableford format, the tournament challenged participants on The Island Course.

Leading the field was SICC member Chiang Siang Pio, who claimed top honours with a gross score of 77. Her composed performance capped a competitive day, with golfers from SICC and visiting clubs showcasing skill and sportsmanship across all divisions.

SICC General Manager Ian Roberts said: “The Ladies’ Open continues to be one of the defining events in SICC’s golfing calendar, and this year’s Wild Wild West edition did not disappoint. The Island Course proved a worthy and demanding test, while the camaraderie and festive spirit among participants made this year’s Ladies’ Open particularly memorable.”

With the sun setting over the course, the clubhouse came alive with an evening of entertainment. Participants had the opportunity to refresh ahead of dinner with complimentary hair styling by OLAPLEX and personalised make-up by Dolce & Gabbana, adding a touch of glamour to the evening’s programme.

A line dance performance by a group of golfers set the tone, before renowned local band Jive Talkin’ brought the crowd to the dance floor, prompting a spontaneous conga line winding through the ballroom.

The festivities continued with an interactive song-guessing challenge, spin-the-wheel giveaways, and Best Dressed Contest, where more than 20 participants showcased their creative New Frontier-inspired attire.

Francesca Kirkham, SICC Lady Captain, said: “The Ladies’ Open is one of the most anticipated events in our golfing calendar, and the Wild Wild West theme made this year’s edition particularly special. We wanted all our participants, whether they were gunning for the title or simply enjoying the festivities, to leave with a smile. It was a day that captured everything we love about women’s golf at the club: great competition, great company, and a whole lot of fun.”
