Evans spent 14 seasons on the European Tour from 1992 to 2006, missing the 2005 season due to injury. His undoubted highlight came in the Open Championship in 2002 at Muirfield where he finished in a tie for fifth place, just one stroke outside the four man play-off, eventually won by Ernie Els.
