Bangkok, Thailand: Prominent industry stalwarts have confirmed their participation at this month’s Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF)-organised Club and Turf Management Conference.

To be staged at Bangkok’s Flora Ville Golf & Country Club on Tuesday, May 27, the gathering will feature a notable line-up of speakers and will present ample networking opportunities.

“This one-day event will bring together golf course general managers, course superintendents and industry professionals from across Thailand and Southeast Asia for a dynamic day of learning, networking, and innovation,” said Chris Gray, President of the AGIF.

The day will be split into three sessions – morning, afternoon and evening, when attendees will have the option to play nine or 18 holes of night golf at Flora Ville.

Also among the highlights will be product presentations from Jebsen & Jessen’s Long Nguyen and a live autonomous mower demonstration conducted by Centaur Asia Pacific’s Jeffrey Eshuis.

The morning session will include four segments, led off by Gray. Wearing his hat as Head of Sustainable Golf & Agronomy Asia-Pacific at The R&A, Gray will discuss Sustainability Best Practices.

He will be followed by a panel session with Flora Ville Golf & Country Club General Manager Daniel Boongullaya, Thai Country Club’s Dave Chavalit Surangsee and Adam Calver, General Manager at Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club and Vice-President of the AGIF. The topic they will tackle is: Manpower Challenges – Attracting, Training and Retaining Greenkeepers.

Moderated by James Shippey, Managing Director at Absolute Golf Services, there will then be an open microphone interactive discussion on Operational Challenges.

The morning session will conclude with a presentation from Chris Geraghty, Managing Partner at 59Club Asia, entitled Importance of Player Feedback and Course Maintenance.

Mark Siegel, Managing Director at Golfasian, will begin the post-lunch session, focusing on Golf Tourism: Maintaining Thailand’s Leadership.

Technology in Golf: Innovations and Benefits is the subject for Yeon Im-wook, CEO at Smartscore Global, while Andrew Knott, Director of the All Thailand Golf Centre, will present on Matching Practice Areas with Golf Courses.

Darren Moore, General Manager at Stonehill Golf Resort, will conclude the formal presentations with the topic: Getting Your Golf Course Ready for a Big Member-Guest Tournament.

Rishi Narain, Head – Events, Sponsorship and Membership at the AGIF, said: “The AGIF is committed to hosting educational and networking events that will bring together personnel from all sectors of the golfing industry in the region.
