Hanoi, Vietnam: The PGA of America has signed a strategic partnership with Silk Path Golf Course Joint Stock Company and Everygolf Vietnam Joint Stock Company, two leading golf facility operators in Vietnam.

Silk Path Dong Trieu Golf & Country Club, a Nick Faldo Signature Design located in the Dong Trieu City on the outskirts of Hanoi, opened in January.

The 18-hole, public facility will host the first PGA of America Golf Academy in Vietnam. The academy will promote Association player engagement programmes, specifically designed for beginner and junior golfer development.

The newly-constructed academy building and adjoining practice areas will also accommodate local golf professionals wishing to utilise the facilities, introducing them to PGA of America education pathways.

Additionally, the Association has partnered with Everygolf, a leading brand for indoor golf simulator studios in Vietnam, providing the latest golf technology for coaching and entertainment opportunities in city centres.

Two current studio locations in Hanoi serve as the home base for six local teaching professionals that will be introduced to PGA of America membership opportunities through a commitment from the newly formed partnership.

“We couldn’t be more excited to partner with the golf facilities under the Silk Path and Everygolf brands,” said Sean Thornberry, Director of Global Development at the PGA of America.

“Their leadership team’s enthusiasm to partner with the PGA of America is a result of our shared mission to support the long-term growth of our sport. This new alliance will be a catalyst for the implementation of player engagement programmes in Vietnam and the opportunity for the Association to spearhead the development of our game in such a rapidly growing international golf market,” added Thornberry.

Kenny Nguyen, CEO of Silk Path Golf Course Joint Stock Company and President of Everygolf Vietnam, said: “Be a better golfer everyday has been our motto since day one when we started Everygolf.

“Our mission from the start has been to help grow the game in the right direction and we believe the partnership with the PGA of America, along with our new Faldo Signature Design golf course at Silk Path Dong Trieu, will help us to achieve that goal.”

The PGA of America now has branded golf facility partnerships in eight countries – Mexico, Dominican Republic, Morocco, India, China, Hong Kong, Philippines and Vietnam.
