Singapore: Prominent industry individuals Dandelly Nguyen and Nick Brown have been elected onto the Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF) Board of Directors.

Nguyen, Managing Director of 54 Vietnam, and Brown, Export Sales Manager at Campey Turf Care Systems, will serve initial two-year terms (2025-2027) and will then be eligible to stand again for a further two years.

“We’re delighted to welcome Dandelly and Nick onto the AGIF Board and look forward to the fresh perspectives they will bring with them,” said Chris Gray, AGIF President, speaking after the elections at the Federation’s annual general meeting.

Gray added: “We’re especially pleased as this is the first time that either 54 or Campey Turf Care Systems have had representation on the Board.

“These are exciting times for the Federation and I have no doubt we will benefit from the experience and expertise in their respective fields that they will bring to the table.”

Nguyen has more than 15 years of experience in golf management, brand development, and tourism strategy. In her role at 54, she is an influential figure in Vietnam’s burgeoning golf industry.

Additionally, Nguyen has led key initiatives for The Bluffs Ho Tram Strip, PGA NovaWorld Golf Course, Vinpearl Golf Courses, and Van Lang Empire Golf Course, driving their strategic positioning at various stages, from early pre-opening to market success.

For his part, Brown brings more than 25 years of experience in the golf and sports turf industry, including a previous role at Ransomes Jacobsen, where he gained extensive knowledge of international markets.

His background is further enriched by his family’s four generations in the Far East. Brown himself was born in Malaysia and spent 25 years living in Singapore, Indonesia and Australia.

As the Export Sales Manager at Campey Turf Care Systems, a company specialising in turf care machinery, Brown is responsible for expanding Campey’s presence in international markets, focusing on building and maintaining long-lasting customer relationships.

At the annual general meeting, Mark Donohue, Regional Manager for Southeast Asia at Rain Bird, was re-elected to the post of Treasurer, while Green Dynasty’s Owen Hester, Brandt Consolidated’s Bruce Williams and Jebsen & Jessen’s Nguyen Thuy Long were elected to serve further two-year terms on the Board.

On the Board they will join existing incumbents Vice President Adam Calver (Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club), Secretary Michael Wong (Singapore Island Country Club) along with Henry Ng (Sustane Natural Fertiliser) and Bryan Littlejohn (Centaur Asia Pacific).

Meanwhile, two of the Federation’s stalwarts have stood down after many years of sterling service – Andrew Johnston, General Manager and Director of Agronomy at Sentosa Golf Club, and Steven Thielke, General Manager at Trump International Golf Club,

Gray said: “On behalf of all those involved with the AGIF, I express our gratitude and appreciation to Andy and Steven for the time and effort they have put into the Federation over many years.

“Even though they’ll be taking a step back from the Federation, I know they’ll both continue to champion the cause of the AGIF and support us in any way they can.”
