Scottsdale, Arizona, United States: Troon has been selected to manage the golf operations at Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort, located approximately 30 minutes from San Antonio.

Troon Golf, the resort and daily-fee division of Troon, will oversee golf course agronomy, golf-related sales and marketing and will work closely with resort ownership and management to further enhance Tapatio Springs Resort’s recognition as a premier destination in the state of Texas.

Owned by L&R Hotels and operated by HEI Hotels & Resorts, Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort was established in 1981 and represented the first golf resort and conference destination in the state of Texas.

The resort features 111 rooms, approximately 13,200 square feet of meeting space, two F&B outlets, an outdoor swimming pool, and an 18-hole golf course, originally designed by Bill Johnston in 1981 before being renovated and redesigned by architect Tripp Davis in 2013.

Consistently ranked among the top courses in Texas, Tapatio Springs meanders through rolling hills and towering live oaks of the 220-acre property, playing to a par of 72 and measuring 6,500 yards from the back tees.

Additional golf amenities include a 47,000 square foot clubhouse, a driving range, as well as practice putting and chipping greens. The course is open year-round to resort guests and public play.

“Troon is very excited to partner with HEI Hotels & Resorts and L+R Hotels at this premier golf resort in the Texas Hill Country,” said Mike Ryan, Chief Operating Officer at Troon, an Executive Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

“Tapatio Springs joins our portfolio of highly sought after US and Texas club destinations and is ideal for golf enthusiasts seeing authentic Texas golf experiences,” added Ryan.

Located in the heart of the famed Texas Hill Country and within driving distance of Texas’ four major metropolitan areas – San Antonio, Austin, Dallas and Houston – Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort is nestled in a picturesque river valley on hundreds of acres of tall, rugged hills of limestone and granite, natural springs, and scenic vistas.
