Hong Kong: Hong Kong Golf Club (HKGC) will once again be the centre of the golfing world’s attention next spring with the announcement that the historic venue will host LIV Golf Hong Kong for the second year in succession.

The tournament from March 7-9, which boasts a prize fund of US$25 million, making it the richest sporting event in Hong Kong history, will be the third event of the League’s 2025 season, following the opening two tournaments in Riyadh and Adelaide respectively.

HKGC Captain Andy Kwok Wing-leung said the club, which is celebrating its 135th anniversary year, would look to build on the success of the inaugural tournament held this March, which saw Abraham Ancer claim the individual title and the Bryson DeChambeau-led Crushers GC win the team event in front of large galleries.

Kwok said: “We saw record numbers of fans flock to Fanling from the Greater Bay Area and far beyond to watch the biggest names in golf and enjoy the carnival-like atmosphere, so that first event certainly proved there is an enormous appetite for mega sporting events of this scale.

“With the continued growth of the League and the huge global interest in it, 2025 promises to be even bigger – and the club, which is one of the oldest golf clubs in Asia, is delighted to play its role in bringing LIV Golf to Hong Kong again for the entertainment of both Hong Kong residents and tourists alike.”

In March, ticket purchasers from 37 countries and territories visited the SAR expressly for LIV Golf Hong Kong, with the tournament’s direct economic impact on the city reaching many tens of millions of US dollars.

Greg Norman, Commissioner & CEO of LIV Golf, said: “LIV Golf’s first visit to Hong Kong was a huge success, with appreciative fans travelling from all over to witness arguably the best field to ever play there.

“Fans enjoyed an exhilarating competition and embraced the fun, fan-friendly experience that is becoming synonymous with our League. Hong Kong Golf Club is showing the rest of the world that an institution rich with history can also build new traditions as we continue to move the sport into the future.

“It’s a true test of golf, and I know our players are looking forward to another great week in Fanling next season.”

In addition to featuring Major winners Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, Cameron Smith, Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson, LIV Golf will again bring ‘Golf, But Louder’ to Hong Kong with memorable fan experiences.

These include a live concert headlined by an internationally renowned artist as well as an amenity-packed Fan Village complemented by a diverse range of food and beverage options.

Kwok said: “As we saw at the club earlier this year, LIV Golf, with its many off-course attractions and activities, attracts a younger demographic than traditional golf tournaments.

“It is fast and it is fun; LIV really introduces the game to new audiences and we are very much looking to working closely with LIV Golf and growing that yet further at the second edition in six months’ time.”

Fans can sign up for free to LIV X, the League’s fan loyalty programme, to receive exclusive updates and access to tickets, including pre-sale information on hospitality and grounds passes for LIV Golf Hong Kong 2025. Fans not subscribed to LIV X will have access to the public on-sale on October 9 (hospitality tickets) and October 30 (grounds passes) respectively.
