Scottsdale, Arizona, United States: Troon has been selected to manage Brookside Golf Club, a 36-hole municipal facility in Pasadena, California.
Indigo Sports, a Troon company, will manage the golf operations, agronomy, retail, food and beverage, and sales and marketing.
Located adjacent to the world-famous Rose Bowl in the shadows of the San Gabriel Mountains, Brookside Golf Club is owned by the City of Pasadena and features two of the best daily-fee layouts in Southern California – the CW Koiner Golf Course and the EO Nay Golf Course.
Designed by golf architect William P. Bell, the 36-hole complex is the oldest golf course in Los Angeles County dating back 95-plus years.
Brookside’s CW Koiner Golf Course No 1 is a 7,104-yard, par-72 layout, while the EO Nay Golf Course No 2 plays 6,025 yards and to a par of 70. Both courses have Bermuda grass fairways, Poanna grass greens and are lined with eucalyptus, pine and oak trees.
“We’re excited to partner with the Rose Bowl Operating Company and City of Pasadena to manage Brookside Golf Club,” said Tony Marino, Vice President of Operations at Troon, an Executive Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.
“The golf courses and adjacent Rose Bowl are iconic and historic Southern California sports venues. We are honoured to help shepherd the future of Brookside,” added Marino.
Brookside Golf Club General Manager Scott Scozzola said: “Very excited to join the team with Troon here at Brookside Golf Club and eager to see what positive changes they can bring to the facility.”
The Brookside Restaurant is open daily to the public for breakfast, lunch and dinner and features panoramic views of the surrounding San Gabriel Mountains. The menu includes house-made burgers, flat breads, sandwiches and salads.
Brookside offers a variety of event spaces for weddings, meetings and parties, including the 250-seat Mediterranean Ballroom and patio, the 60-seat Arroyo Ballroom and the 30-seat Rose Room.
