Shenzhen, China: Club Car displayed a full range of products at the 29th edition of the Volvo China Open.
Staged at Shenzhen’s Hidden Grace Golf Club in the first week of May, Club Car was once more a mainstay of the DP World Tour event.
While Spaniard Adrián Otaegui emerged triumphant at the Nelson & Haworth-sculpted venue, also rising to the challenge in testing conditions was Club Car’s cart series, including Tempo, Transporter, Carryall and Villager.
Among the multiple tasks they undertook were transporting passengers and materials around the course, ensuring the rain-affected championship ran smoothly, despite being reduced to 54 holes following the washout of the third round.
“Throughout the tournament week, Club Car’s cart family provided an excellent and reliable experience for guests, golfers and staff,” said a spokesperson for the Augusta-headquartered company that is an Executive member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.
Also catching the eye at Hidden Grace was Club Car’s C300 model which served as a mobile medical support vehicle for the tournament, providing medical support services, including first aid to golfers, staff, guests, and spectators.
Club Car has been an official supplier of the DP World Tour since 1999, providing a comprehensive total solution for event operations and logistics.
The Club Car spokesperson added: “As the world’s leading manufacturer of golf, utility and personal transportation vehicles, Club Car has been in co-operation with the DP World Tour for more than 20 years.
“Both parties are highly consistent in pursuing excellence in quality and are committed to the promotion and development of the sport of golf.
“This partnership with the Volvo China Open is an important milestone in the renewed co-operation between the two parties and demonstrates Club Car’s leading position in the golf field.”
Last week’s event was the first time since 2019 that the Volvo China Open had been part of the DP World Tour schedule. Hosted by the China Golf Association, the event was co-sanctioned with the China Tour.
First staged in 1995, and then first sanctioned by the DP World Tour in 2004, the Volvo China Open is the longest-running international professional golf tournament in mainland China.
