SGA Honours Players and Stakeholders

Singapore: Industry stakeholders, national squad members, staff and officials were hailed at the 2023 Singapore Golf Association (SGA) Annual Gala and Awards.

On a night of fun and revelry at the Orchid Country Club’s Grand Ballroom, the achievements of players and contributions from key stakeholders in the golfing industry were honoured, while China’s Liang Wenchong, the first mainland Chinese to win the Asian Tour Order of Merit title in 2007, was unveiled as SGA’s newest golf ambassador.

James Leow was named as the Male Golfer of the Year while Aloysa Atienza was the Female Golfer of the Year. Daryl Low and Chen Xingtong were awarded the Male Junior Golfer and Female Junior Golfer of the Year respectively.

The Hana Financial Group Singapore Women’s Open, which made its debut at the Tanah Merah Country Club in December last year, was honoured as the Best New Golf Event of the Year for 2022.

Sentosa Golf Club and The Singapore Island Country Club, both Facility Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation, were recognised for their leading roles in sustainability.

The Annual Gala and Awards dinner was a key event and part of the inaugural SGA Golf Week, which aimed to bring the community and stakeholders together as it celebrated and recognised supporters of the sport of golf across various locations in Singapore.

The Singapore Golf Association is an Associate Business Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.
