Singapore: The Singapore Island Country Club (SICC) has officially opened the new Clubhouse – The Bukit after three years of construction which was plagued by the pandemic, factory closures and exceptional inclement weather.

With a development price tag of around S$66 million, the clubhouse was officially opened by the Guest-of-Honour, Dr Ng Eng Hen, Singapore’s Minister for Defence.

The clubhouse is a magnificent urban sanctuary where SICC members and guests can enjoy the best in club dining and entertainment in the heart of Singapore.

It was constructed as part of a rejuvenation plan for SICC, complementing the unique offerings at the Island clubhouse.

The Bukit provides an array of wellness facilities, including an invigorating Fitness Zone, tranquil swimming pools, and a virtual reality room equipped with state-of-the-art technology.

To provide members with a unique retail experience, The Bukit Boutique, located at the main entrance, brings together merchandise from renowned lifestyle brands as well as SICC’s own in-house design.

With the opening of the new clubhouse, five new F&B outlets are added to the list of F&B options. These include the Ying Chinese Restaurant, which serves authentic Teochew delicacies, and The Braid Bar, which offers bespoke cocktails and whisky selections as well as the SICC in-house gin – ‘1924’.

Along with the new clubhouse is the Bukit golf course, which dates back to 1924 and is well-known for its elegance and history. Next year marks the 100th anniversary of the golf course.

“This clubhouse represents more than just bricks and mortar. It symbolises the unity and resilience of our club, as well as the values we hold dear. It is part of our effort to continually upgrade our amenities for members’ enjoyment, and a significant milestone in our club’s transformation plan,” said Vincent Wee, President at SICC, a Facility Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

The SICC was formed in 1963 and has grown into one of the region’s most prominent clubs with more than 7,800 members. The club features three courses and a total of 63 holes, a wide variety of F&B outlets, sports, social and leisure facilities across two locations in central Singapore.
