Cary, North Carolina, United States: Allison Cooney has been appointed Golf Market Development Manager for John Deere’s Golf & Sports Turf Team.
In her new role, Cooney has responsibility for growing John Deere Golf’s brand and relationships in Asia, the Middle East, South Africa, Central and South America, as well as the markets in Australia and New Zealand.
“I will have a special focus on the Asian market with the aim of growing John Deere Golf’s brand and developing strategic relationships within the market,” said Cooney, formerly a Division I college golfer in America who coached high school golf for seven years.
“I’m passionate about golf and growing the game and I look forward to continuing to develop John Deere’s relationship with the Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF),” she added.
One of the Founding member companies of the AGIF in 2010, John Deere has been a staunch supporter of the Federation’s acclaimed Certificate in Greenkeeping (CIG) programme and has also had representation on the AGIF Board.
Chris Gray, President of the AGIF, said: “On behalf of the Federation, congratulations to Allison on her appointment.
“John Deere has been a stalwart member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation for more than a decade and we especially appreciate the support they have shown for our CIG programme.
“Moving ahead, we look forward to working closely with Allison and her colleagues as we strive to grow and improve the golf industry across our region.”
North Carolina-based Cooney started her career at John Deere through the Supply Management Development Programme.
Throughout this programme, she had the opportunity to work in Material Flow within John Deere’s Construction and Forestry Division as well as Supply Management within John Deere’s Crop Care Platform.
After the Supply Management Development Programme, Cooney had positions of increasing responsibility as a Production Supervisor within John Deere’s Cylinder Division and as a Supply Base Manager within John Deere’s Strategic Sourcing organisation.
In her previous role within Strategic Sourcing, Cooney managed the commercial relationship and strategy for the steel tubing commodity.
