Punta Cana, Dominican Republic: Troon has been selected to manage Cocotal Golf & Country Club.

Troon Golf, the resort and daily-fee division of Troon, will manage the golf operations, agronomy, retail, and sales and marketing at the club.

Cocotal Golf & Country Club, owned by global hotel company Meliá Hotels International, features 27 holes of golf designed by Spanish champion Pepe Gancedo, considered by many as the ‘Picasso of Golf’.

Named after the hundreds of coconut trees spread throughout the property, the three nine-hole layouts meander through a lush tropical jungle and numerous lakes.

“Troon is thrilled to have been selected to manage Cocotal Golf & Country Club in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic,” said Zack Vervaecke, Director of Operations, Troon, an Executive Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

“With its stunning natural beauty and world-class facilities, Cocotal is a true gem in the Caribbean. We look forward to working with Meliá Hotels International to enhance the golf experience for guests staying at the adjacent resorts and to elevate Cocotal to new heights of excellence,” he added.

Located on the Costa del Coco (Coconut Coast) with its white-sand beaches and turquoise-blue waters, Cocotal is just steps away from five of Meliá’s luxurious, all-inclusive resort properties.

Guests staying at Paradisus Palma Real, Meliá Punta Cana Beach, Meliá Caribe Beach and Garden Suites by Meliá pay only golf cart and/or club rentals. Green fee, food and beverages are included. Guests staying at the new Falcons Resort by Meliá, will be subject to an additional green fee for golf.

“We are delighted to partner with Troon to bring their unparalleled expertise in golf and hospitality management to Cocotal Golf & Country Club,” said Francisco Camps, Area Managing Director of Meliá Hotels, Dominican Republic.

“With Troon’s guidance, we are confident that Cocotal will continue to provide an exceptional experience for our guests, while also strengthening our commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility,” added Camps.
