Bangkok, Thailand: Courses across Southeast Asia are experiencing a mini boom with a new group of golf vacationers arriving.

Previously, golf courses in the region used to primarily attract European and American golfers escaping wintry weather. Now, golfers from closer to home are also flying in to enjoy the sunny weather.

With this in mind, a new golf guide has been launched this month called Destination Golf SE Asia 2023.

“We have been successfully publishing golf guides for the past 12 years, covering all the top European, South African, and Middle East regions. We felt now was the time to include Southeast Asia as well,” said Dermot Synnott, Publisher of Destination Golf Travel, a Media Partner of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

The guide which covers the top courses in Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, and Malaysia, also has exclusive interviews with Sir Nick Faldo and Greg Norman, both of whom have designed award-winning layouts across the region.

The guide also features useful tips on getting the most out of a golf vacation across Southeast Asia.

Asia Editor Mike Bridge said: “With shorter flights and easier entry requirements there has been a shift in the demographics of overseas golfers, with many vacationers from India and neighboring Malaysia and Singapore playing all the top courses here, especially in Thailand and Vietnam.”

It’s planned to launch the 2024 Southeast Asia guide in November, ahead of the World Golf Travel Awards in the Middle East.
