Bangkok, Thailand: The Thailand Golf Course Association (TGCA) has pledged to continue its support for the Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF) Club and Turf Management Conference in the Land of a Thousand Smiles.

The TGCA was the Association Partner at last month’s conference at Robinswood Golf Club which attracted a record attendance of more than 140 delegates from Thailand, Southeast Asia and as far afield as the United Kingdom and the United States.

During a welcome address, TGCA President Suchart Suwannasri said the association is pleased to partner with the AGIF and spoke of the importance of continued collective efforts from the golf industry in Thailand to further advance golf and golf tourism in the country.

Suchart said: “We are truly honoured to be a part of the AGIF Club and Turf Management Conference. This is an important gathering of professionals who are shaping the future of the golf and club management industry across our region.

“Conferences such as this provide a valuable platform for learning, exchanging ideas, building partnerships, and exploring new opportunities that will help our industry continue to grow in a sustainable and progressive manner.

“This year’s conference came at a very important time for the golf industry. Around the world, clubs and facilities are adapting to evolving expectations in areas such as turf management, environmental responsibility, technology integration, operational efficiency, and customer experience.

“By bringing together experts, decision-makers, and innovators under one roof, AGIF once again created an excellent opportunity for meaningful discussions and knowledge sharing.”

Suchart also highlighted the importance to Thailand of the continued growth of golf tourism.

He said: “Thailand has long been recognised as one of Asia’s leading golf destinations, not only because of our world-class golf courses and hospitality, but also because of the dedication and passion of the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes to maintain and elevate industry standards.

“The golf industry also plays a significant role in supporting Thailand’s economy and tourism sector. Every year, thousands of golfers from around the world travel to Thailand to experience our golf courses, resorts, hospitality, and culture. This contributes not only to tourism revenue, but also creates employment opportunities, supports local businesses, and strengthens Thailand’s reputation as a premier international golf destination.

“The continued growth of golf tourism is an important driver for economic development and international engagement for our country.”

Chris Gray, President of the AGIF, said: “We thank Khun Suchart and the Thailand Golf Course Association for their participation at Robinswood. With their continued support, we are confident that the AGIF Club & Turf Management Conference in Thailand will grow and cement its position as one of the region’s foremost gatherings for the golf industry.”
