Scottsdale, Arizona, United States: Troon has been selected to manage Boca Grove, an exclusive, members-only golf, tennis and country club in Boca Raton, Florida.
Troon Privé, the private club operating division of Troon, will manage golf, tennis and club operations, food and beverage, golf course agronomy, and membership marketing and programming.
Boca Grove’s original Karl Litten-designed golf course opened for play in 1982 and hosted the Quadel Senior Classic, a Champions Tour event won twice by Arnold Palmer (1983 & 1984) and once by Gary Player (1985).
In 2011, Jim Fazio redesigned the course, which now measures 6,808 yards and plays to a par of 72.
The club also has a proud tennis tradition, boasting 11 Har-Tru clay courts, including one imported Italian red clay stadium court and five Pickleball courts. Boca Grove annually hosts multiple USTA championship matches and is home to a variety of weekly clinics, round robins, social tennis events, league and junior play.
Marc Gillman, Boca Grove Property Owner’s Association Board President, said: “Boca Grove has experienced two tremendous years with record home sales, completion of a new building and a merger of our club and POA.
“We are stronger than we have been in over a decade and wanted to give ourselves the best chance to remain on top regardless of what the future holds. We feel Troon offers a strong support system through best practices at over 500-plus properties worldwide, leveraged buying power and, most importantly, a culture that cares about the members of our club as well as our personnel. It is the right choice for us at the right time!”
“Boca Grove is a first-class private club and community with incredible amenities,” said Ricardo Catarino, Vice President of Operations at Troon, an Executive Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.
“Our Troon Privé team is excited to enhance and push the member experience to new heights through engaging programmes and outstanding service. We appreciate the opportunity that the Board has provided us to partner with an engaged and dedicated team at Boca Grove as we collaborate on the long term plans that will further provide members with the lifestyle they expect when joining a top tier club and community.”
In addition to golf and tennis, Boca Grove’s recently opened Sports & Wellness Centre, named The Curve, has everything a member needs to get in shape.
Completed in November 2021, the 14,000-plus square foot centre is equipped with Precor, TRX, treadmills, elliptical, free weights, resistance and on-site physical therapy.
The first floor of the building has multi-purpose exercise rooms for pilates, spinning, and various other group fitness classes. Also located on the first floor are the locker rooms and steam rooms.
The children’s recreation room, known as The Hive for Busy Bees, is adjacent to the Splash Pad and playground. The Curve’s pool is a zero-entry recreational, resort-style pool connected to an Olympic-size lap pool.
A newly renovated clubhouse was reintroduced to members in October 2017 with enhanced food and dining options, meeting rooms, as well as golf and tennis shops. In total, Boca Grove has seven dining venues, including private restaurants for an elegant dining experience with family and friends, Chippers Sports Bar with 12 large screen televisions, cafés and lounges.
As a Troon Privé-managed club, Boca Grove members can enjoy the Troon Privé Privileges programme, which delivers golf and lifestyle benefits as well as reciprocal play at other Troon Privé-managed private clubs around the world.
