Singapore: Mark Kolentsis has been named as the winner of the Rain Bird Corporation Outstanding Sales Award.
Currently the Area Manager for Rain Bird’s Golf Division in Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar, Kolentsis has more than 15 years’ experience in the golf industry.
“I’m honoured to have won the Rain Bird Corporation 2020 and 2019 Outstanding Sales Award. I would like to thank my colleagues, mentors and distributors as their support has been key to my success,” said Kolentsis, whose experience includes golf course construction and irrigation system management.
He has also been involved in the preparation for a number of professional golf tournaments including The Open Championship and Dunhill Links Championships in St Andrews, Scotland and The Kiwi Challenge at Cape Kidnappers.
Throughout a much-travelled career that has taken him to Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Scotland and Vietnam, Kolentsis has gained strong competencies in agronomy, irrigation and environmental system management.
He has a deep passion for environmentalism and associated industry innovations and sat on the Board of The Elbow River Watershed Partnership (ERWP) for three years, taking an active role in educating, supporting and encouraging all stakeholders in the community to protect and enhance water quality and quantity for generations to come.
Kolentsis obtained an Associates Diploma in Horticulture with a major in Turfgrass Management from the University of Guelph in Canada as well as a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Golf Course Management from Olds College.
Kolentsis is currently enrolled in Rutgers Executive MBA programme and is anticipated to complete the programme in June.
Rain Bird is an Executive Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.
