Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga, Philippines: One of the jewels in the crown of golf in the Philippines, Mimosa Plus Golf Course has signed up with the Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF).
Set against stunning foothill mountains and luscious greens of plants and trees, the 36-hole venue is managed by Chroma Hospitality, owned by the Filinvest Hospitality Corporation.
The golf course is within the Filinvest Mimosa Leisure City estate in the heart of Clark, where the hotel Quest Plus Conference Centre Clark is also conveniently located.
Situated in the shadow of Mount Pinatubo, on part of the ex-American Clark Air Base, Mimosa is a 20-minute drive from downtown Angeles City and 55 miles from Manila, the country’s capital city.
David Ross, Director of Golf at Mimosa Plus Golf Course, said: “We look forward to being part of the Asian Golf Industry Federation and working together to promote the golf industry in the region.”
The Acacia Lakeview Course and the Mountainview Course were both originally designed by Nelson & Haworth Golf Course Architects, an Associate Business Member of the AGIF.
Nelson & Haworth have again been tasked with renovating the 36 holes and should see the completion by the end of 2021.
Eric Lynge, the AGIF’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “We’re pleased to welcome Mimosa Plus Golf Course into the Federation as a Golf Course Facility Member.
“For more than a quarter of a century, Mimosa has been a popular destination for golfers from around Asia and beyond. It will surely continue to be a magnet for golf tourists once the world navigates its way through the current difficulties.”
