IMG Springs to the Fore at Hungarian Resort

Zala Springs

Budapest, Hungary: Zala Springs Golf Resort has appointed IMG to provide management, marketing and communications consultancy services as it seeks to establish itself as one of Europe’s finest new golfing destinations.

Featuring a Robert Trent Jones Jr-designed course and a distinctive modern clubhouse, the resort enjoys an enviable location, lying within a two-hour drive of four iconic European cities (Budapest, Vienna, Zagreb and Ljubljana) and within 20 minutes of Lake Balaton, Central Europe’s largest lake and a paradise for sunseekers and water sports enthusiasts.

Accommodation is provided in the form of 32 luxurious apartments and penthouse suites, while an extensive wellness centre is set to open in Spring 2020.

“Zala Springs has all the attributes required to become a truly iconic golfing venue and we are delighted that it has joined our growing portfolio of world class golfing properties,” said Russell Hannah, Senior Director of Golf at IMG, a Full Business Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

“The combination of IMG’s unique expertise and global reach with the passion, knowledge and experience of the Zala Springs team will ensure that it delivers a truly world class experience and receives the international recognition and success it so clearly deserves,” he added.

Tamas Benkocs, President and CEO of Zala Springs, said: “Having already established ourselves as one of the finest golf resorts in the region, the time is now right to further elevate our status. With IMG’s global brand and heritage and commitment to quality, we are confident that they are the right partners to support us with our ambitious plans and we look forward to a rewarding and beneficial relationship.”

IMG currently provides management and marketing services to more than 20 award-winning clubs and resorts.
