Amata Friendship Cup Tie-Up with ‘Amazing Thailand’

TATBangkok, Thailand: The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), through its ‘Amazing Thailand’ campaign, has added more to its repertoire to showcase Thailand as one of the top tourist locations worldwide, partnering with the inaugural Amata Friendship Cup.
TAT is promoting the best of Thailand to the world, and its affiliation with the Amata Friendship Cup demonstrates the stature of the event as a global showcase of Thai golf.
To be played from December 21-23 at the Amata Spring Country Club – a Golf Course Facility Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation – the Amata Friendship Cup will be broadcast on PPTV in Thailand, Fox Sports across Southeast Asia, on the Golf Network Japan and Golf Channel China, sharing the beauty of Thailand to international audiences.
This unique golf tournament will welcome teams made up of Thailand’s top male and female professional and amateur golfers, including such names as Kiradech Aphibarnrat, Thongchai Jaidee and Ariya Jutanugarn, the world’s top-ranked female player.
These players will compete against their Japanese counterparts in the world’s first mixed match play event in a celebration of the friendship between the two nations, promoting a narrative of equality and togetherness in the sport. The tournament has been labelled and celebrated as one of the most progressive and notable occasions in the world’s golfing calendar.
David Townend, Tournament Director and General Manager of the Amata Spring Country Club, said: “Thailand is an amazing place, full of rich and unique heritage. We are proud of Thai history, as well as the history that we have here at the Amata Spring Country Club, including hosting the Thai Golf Championship and Royal Trophy.
“We are very excited to be working with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, as it promotes everything that is great about Thailand. As well as being a great showcase for Thai golf, we hope that our tournament will showcase the beauty, culture and appeal of Thailand to our international TV audiences.”
The Amata Friendship Cup is dedicated to creating a fun, exciting, and welcoming event for golf fans of all ages.
