Melbourne, Australia: Club Car, a brand of Ingersoll Rand and a global leader in golf, commercial utility and personal-use vehicles, is providing more than 60 vehicles for this week’s ISPS Handa Melbourne World Cup of Golf at Metropolitan Golf Club in Victoria.
Through its newly appointed Authorised Distributor for Victoria – In Golf and Utility – Club Car is supplying more than 60 brand new vehicles to be used by players, coaches and on course crews to the unique event which involves two-man teams from 28 countries competing in a 72-hole stroke play format.
“This prestigious event further exemplifies Club Car’s strong international presence across continents and is yet another major golf venue for us to deliver best in class vehicles and back end support,” said Kevin Gates, Vice President for the region for Club Car, an Executive Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.
He added: “We’re fresh off the heels of a successful Ryder Cup and now at the World Cup of Golf we will play an integral role in transporting the game’s best golfers and providing on-course logistics support to Metropolitan Golf Course’s crew.”
Club Car, an official supplier to major golf events around the world, is the Official Golf Car of the PGA of Australia and the Exclusive Golf Car Partner of Golf Management Australia.
Club Car contributed hundreds of vehicles at September’s Ryder Cup at Le Golf National in France.
“We understand there are challenges associated with providing vehicles and support to our events in this part of the world,” said World Cup of Golf Executive Director Robyn Cooper. “I’ve worked with Club Car and its partners here for a number of years now, and they continue to get the job done for us – time after time.”
