Lawrence, Kansas, United States: JD Dockstader, Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA), has announced that he will be resigning effective September 29, to pursue other career interests.
Dockstader joined the GCSAA in January 2014 as Chief Business Development Officer and transitioned to COO in June 2015.
He came to the GCSAA after serving the previous seven years as Director of Commercial Facilities for the city of Mesa, Arizona.
“On behalf of the staff and our members, I thank JD for his many contributions to the GCSAA,” said Rhett Evans, the GCSAA’s Chief Executive Officer. “His strong work ethic and innovation benefitted us all, and we wish him the very best as he moves on to the next chapter of his career.”
Dockstader was responsible for directing key member programmes, marketing, and building new partnerships and business development opportunities for the association.
Dockstader said: “I have enjoyed the opportunity to make an impact on the organisation, both financially and operationally, while developing relationships with our members, clients and others in the golf industry.
“I strongly believe that GCSAA is positioned to do amazing things that will not only impact the future of the golf course management profession, but the golf industry as a whole.”
Until his departure next month, Dockstader will transition his projects and duties to other members of the executive management team. Evans will share plans for identifying a replacement at a later date.
