Singapore: Lagardère Sports, a major stakeholder in golf in Asia and around the world, has joined the Asian Golf Industry Federation as a Full Business Member.
With offices and operations in more than 30 countries, Lagardère Sports is part of the Lagardère Group, a global leader in content production.
In Asia Pacific, the global sports marketing and entertainment agency has offices in Australia, Beirut, Dubai, Hong Kong, Seoul, Shanghai, Singapore and Tokyo.
Among the major golfing properties with which it is involved in the region, Lagardère Sports is the promoter of the SMBC Singapore Open and Emirates Australian Open.
The company also manages and represents more than 50 players on the PGA Tour. Jordan Spieth and Phil Mickelson are among seven Major champions on its books.
Patrick Joyce, Vice President Golf – Asia at Lagardère Sports, said: “As a company, we are committed to growing the game of golf.
“We are pleased to be working alongside the Asian Golf Industry Federation with the launch of a Club Management Mini Summit at the 2017 SMBC Singapore Open.
“As a Full Business Member of the Federation, we look forward to working closely with the AGIF and further contributing to the growth and development of the industry as a whole.”
Eric Lynge, the AGIF’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “Lagardère Sports is a highly influential player in the global golfing industry. We are delighted to welcome them into the Asian Golf Industry Federation fold.
“The forthcoming Club Management Mini Summit at Sentosa Golf Club is the first of what we hope will be many projects in which we will be working directly together with them.”
Lagardère Group launched its dedicated sports division in 2006. Consolidated by a series of strategic acquisitions (including World Sport Group in Asia and Gaylord in the United States), it has successfully evolved into a worldwide agency offering a full spectrum of sports business services.
Joyce said: “Our unique range of services on and off the course make us a partner of choice for golf rights holders and players, as well as brands and broadcasters interested in the sport.
“Our golf management team brings decades of experience to key golf and corporate organisations, while we represent one of the world’s largest portfolio of players.”
