Jakarta, Indonesia: Jacobsen’s Indonesian distributor, PT Sahabat Agritama, has opened a dedicated training centre at its Jakarta head office to help develop the technical skills of turfcare mechanics in their territory.
The official opening ceremony was conducted by Rusly Sjaichudin, Chairman of Sahabat Group, together with General Manager Chandra Leo, before a group of course superintendents and chief mechanics from local golf courses.
Also in attendance were Annie Boriraj from Jacobsen, Victor Siang Heng from E-Z-GO and Engkos Rahardjo, President of Indonesian Golf Course Superintendents’ Association (ASPGI).
The purpose of the new facility is to train and educate golf course mechanics from Jacobsen customers across Indonesia. This will ensure that Jacobsen equipment is maintained to the correct standards and will perform to expectations over the lifetime of the product.
“PT Sahabat has been a key partner of Jacobsen in the Southeast Asian market for the past 30 years and in 2015 won the coveted APAC Distributor of the Year award,” said Boriraj, Regional Sales Manager for Southeast Asia for Jacobsen, an Executive Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.
“One of their key strengths is their world-class service, ensuring that their customers are supported at all levels. This new facility again demonstrates that commitment to customer care.”
Jacobsen, based in Charlotte, North Carolina in America and Ransomes Jacobsen, based in the English town of Ipswich, are Textron Inc companies and are among the leading turf maintenance equipment manufacturers worldwide.
