Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: Asian Golf Industry Federation Golf Facility Member Kota Permai Golf & Country Club has added another accolade to its long list of awards.
At the Golf Magazine Top-10 Courses in Malaysia ceremony, Kota Permai was named second. Its sister club, Horizon Hills Golf & Country Club, in Johor Bahru, was third.
Tang Meng Loon, Gamuda Land Clubs Group General Manager, and Saha Kamarudin, Kota Permai Senior Club Manager, received the awards for Kota Permai and Horizon Hills.
Tang said: “At Kota Permai and Horizon Hills, our teams are committed to delivering a world-class golfing experience. We offer more than just golf and are proud of our reputation for having created a welcoming environment that attracts both golfers and non-golfers, who are keen to relax in our family-friendly and great clubhouse environment.”
Readers were given selection criteria to ensure they picked courses worthy of being in the top-10, based on the US Golf Magazine’s criteria for its Top-100 Courses in the US and the World.
Organisers said ‘a panel consisting of golf writers, rules officials, golf industry leaders and a professional golfer ensured the transparent application of the selection process was duly complied with’.
Malkeet Kaur, Golf Magazine Chief Editor, said: “Kota Permai and Horizon Hills are known for their proactive marketing practices and were popular choices of the voters. Kota Permai and Horizon Hills are an example of how golf courses should be maintained. Throughout the years, they have managed to sustain their high standards, not just on the golf course, but also in their level of service.”
