Shanghai, China: Martin Slumbers will be among the headline speakers at the 2015 HSBC Golf Business Forum.
Slumbers, who is due to take over from Peter Dawson as The R&A’s Chief Executive, has confirmed his participation in the event at the Pudong Shangri La Hotel in downtown Shanghai from November 1-4.
Also on the speaker list are Antony Scanlon, Executive Director of the International Golf Federation, Ariel Emanuel, Co-CEO WME | IMG; Ajaz Ahmed, founder and CEO of AKQA; Dr Paul Hawkins, the inventor of the popular Hawk Eye sports technology; Richard Cheung Yau-choi, Chairman of Deer Valley Group; Andrea Sartori, Global Head of Sport at KPMG; Joe Beditz, CEO of the National Golf Foundation, and Carin Koch, Europe’s Solheim Cup Captain.
HSBC will present insights into one of the world’s largest economies, with cutting edge research once again taking a central role in the Forum.
Brand Z, the world’s largest brand equity database, along with partners KPMG, NGF, Repucom and Syngenta promise compelling and insightful presentations, ensuring delegates leave Shanghai fully abreast of all the latest trends and developments pertaining to the world of golf.
Taking place in Asia for the first time, the November date also allows delegates to experience the flagship WGC-HSBC Champions tournament taking place at Sheshan International Golf Club from November 5-8.
This year’s Forum agenda will focus on four key themes: leadership, knowledge, solutions and inspiration.
Each theme will be extensively explored in a half-day session featuring a mix of panels, keynote presentations and thought leadership sessions moderated by leading media experts including the BBC’s Andrew Cotter and John Dawson, Artemis Associates (formerly Bloomberg).
Giles Morgan, HSBC Global Head of Sponsorship & Events, said: “We are delighted to be in our second year as title sponsor of the HSBC Golf Business Forum. As a sponsor of both elite and grassroots golf, it seemed natural to extend our support to the business of golf and to facilitate a platform for industry leaders and golf industry sectors to come together.
“HSBC’s ambition is to open up the game of golf and we are thrilled to be welcoming the Who’s Who of golf to Shanghai to discuss the themes of leadership, knowledge, solution and inspiration. The highly respected line up of speakers and panelists promises an inspiring couple of days.”
A strong list of leading brands and associations will partner with the Forum, including Asian Golf Industry Federation members Jacobsen, John Deere and Syngenta, the event founders, KPMG, NGF, Repucom, The R&A, USGA, European Tour, PGA Tour and Asian Tour.
