Pattaya, Thailand: The Singha Corporation Thailand Open is ‘deepening the partnership’ between OneAsia and the Japan Golf Tour Organisation [JGTO].
OneAsia and the JGTO co-sanctioned the Thailand Open for the second time while next month’s Indonesia PGA Championship will be jointly backed for the third occasion.
“Throughout the co-sanction tournaments in the Asian region, we would like to contribute to spread the golfing platform by deepening the partnership with OneAsia,” said Katsuji Ebisawa, Chairman of the JGTO.
“By holding co-sanction events in the Asian region where there is a significant economic growth, the Japan Golf Tour Organisation wants (to help) grow the golfing population.
“I am very excited that we were able to hold this year’s tournament at the Siam Country Club – Plantation Course.
“I hope that this tournament will be one of the leading tournaments in Asia for many years to come.”
OneAsia Commissioner and Chairman Sang Y. Chun thanked the JGTO for its continued support of OneAsia.
“With the help of the Japan Golf Tour Organisation we assembled a top-class field [at the Thailand Open],” he said. “I would also like to thank title sponsor Singha Corporation for their backing and the other major sponsors for supporting the tournament.”
World Sport Group, a Full Business Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation, is the promoter of the Thailand Open and OneAsia’s marketing partner.
