IMG Enters Online Booking Partnership

Press Release Image for IMG PartnershipNew York, United States: IMG and golfscape have announced a partnership enabling courses in the IMG Prestige global reciprocal network to process online bookings for the first time.
Golfscape, a start-up company, will become the exclusive booking platform to 100 participating golf courses worldwide, allowing golfers to make instant reservations at destination courses.
IMG, an Executive Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation [AGIF], manages IMG Prestige, an affiliate network of 100+ premier golf properties in key destinations worldwide.
The new Prestige web portal will be built on top of golfscape’s native, self-service inventory distribution platform. Teaming up with golfscape.com will provide the network with a connected infrastructure and sales channel to process online bookings – a service unavailable at most worldwide courses.
“Combining travel tourism with golf is a double-digit annual growth sector,” said Paul Burley, Vice President, IMG Golf and a Board Member of the AGIF. “The new IMG Prestige, powered by golfscape, will be built in an exclusive partnership that draws on the core strengths of each company,” Burley added.
IMG delivers golf course management services with sales and marketing support that leverages the strength of its golf media division, helping to improve retention rates and drive incremental sales with partners. The global reciprocal programme provides members and guests preferred access at participating clubs and resorts. Fused with golfscape’s innovative approach, IMG Prestige will transform its product into a customer-centric experience.
“At the core of our alliance with IMG is a shared belief that more online access to golf courses is a boon to address key challenges facing the industry,” said Raghad Mukhaimer, golfscape’s CEO.
“The business model of courses is changing and we must collectively be ready to engage customers where they are spending more of their time – online. By tightly integrating our technology with the IMG Prestige courses, we provide them complete control to realise efficiencies and reach a wider audience,” Mukhaimer added.
Both parties will also be collaborating at key industry events including IAGTO’s European and Asian Golf Travel Conventions and the IMG-managed HSBC Golf Business Forum, which is scheduled to take place alongside the WGC HSBC Champions in Shanghai in November.
