Las Vegas, United States: Pacific Links International has announced that Ernie Els will act as a brand ambassador and wear the company’s logo during this week’s US Open.
Els joins fellow ambassadors such as Greg Norman, Annika Sorenstam, Nick Price and Mark O’Meara as a spokesperson for the golf management company.
In addition to wearing the company logo during tournaments, ambassadors promote Pacific Links’ membership programmes at a variety of global engagements on behalf of the company each year.
“Ernie Els is one of the greatest golfers in the world, and we couldn’t be more pleased by his commitment to support Pacific Links,” said Bruce Simmonds, CEO of Pacific Links International, a Full Business Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation [AGIF].
“Ernie’s success in the game on a global level makes him a great fit as an ambassador for Pacific Links International, especially as we continue our rapid growth in Asia and around the world.”
One of the most successful golfers in the history of the game, Els has won more than 70 tournaments including four Major championships, two World Golf Championships and a record seven World Matchplay titles.
Els’s skilful mastery of the world’s golf courses now extends to designing them too, and Ernie Els Design – a Full Business Member of the AGIF – continues to create attractive, classically-inspired and critically-acclaimed courses that are a test for the very best, but also enjoyable for players of all standards.
“I’m excited to be able to work with Pacific Links both as a brand ambassador and to design a new 18-hole course in Beijing” said Els. “With their reputation and expertise in the industry I’m proud to represent the brand as I travel and compete around the world.”
Pacific Links has increased its focus on growing its presence in China and bringing luxury, Western-style golf to the Asian market.
Renovations on nearly half a dozen clubs in China are already underway and Pacific Links is working with the finest golfers and designers in the industry to create a collection of the most sought after courses in the world.
