Richard Campey and Air Inject President Glen Black receive the STMA award for the Most Innovative Product.
Denver, United States: The GT Air2G2 Injector, distributed in the United Kingdom, Europe and Asia by Campey Turf Care Systems, has won the Most Innovative Product Award at the American Sports Turf Managers Association (STMA) conference and exhibition.
The Innovative Awards programme recognises those commercial company members that have developed a product, service, equipment or technology that substantially enhances the effectiveness of the Sports Turf Manager.
The innovation could also make playing surfaces safer and more playable for athletes.
The Air2G2 meets all these criteria. Its innovative design uses pressure to penetrate deep into the soil by injecting air with a ‘double injection’ action.
First it fractures the soil at the compacted layer then again at the maximum depth of 12 inches (depending on probe length).
This action shatters the ground horizontally, forcing the air upward, decompacting the soil around the root zone. Essentially, the action of forcing air through the soil structure creates a network of fissures.
This, in turn, produces the conditions for healthy roots to develop and grow deep while encouraging excellent microbial activity and increasing the presence of bacteria in the soil.
The Air2G2 literally breathes new life into the soil, and there is no disruption to the playing surface.
