Jakarta, Indonesia: Indonesia has launched its first co-ordinated golf tourism promotion with a campaign aimed at key markets.
Announcing the start of the campaign, Hari Wibowo, Manager of International Promotion for Enjoy Jakarta, said: “There are some 30 golf courses in and around Jakarta and we know, after two years of working with this lucrative niche segment, that golf visitors really love the Jakarta golf experience.
“Specifically it is the quality of the courses, the caddie culture, the sheer variety and accessibility of the experience and the clubhouse hospitality that are enticing more and more people to take a golf holiday in Jakarta.
“We are beginning a six-month programme of promotions in China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Korea, the Philippines and Australia to deliver a clear message to golfers in those key markets that they should consider Jakarta for their next golf break.
“We have named this campaign Enjoy Jakarta Golf and this is exactly what we are inviting golfers from around the world to come and do.”
The Enjoy Jakarta initiative comes as Jakarta prepares to host the fourth Asia Golf Tourism Convention [AGTC] next April, organised by global golf tourism industry organisation IAGTO.
