Morong, Bataan, The Philippines: Anvaya Cove Golf & Sports Club and its developer, Ayala Land Inc, through its high-end residential brand Ayala Land Premier, have been singled out as winners of a 2014 Asia Pacific Property Award, the prestigious, regional competition among luxury developers from across the region.
Anvaya Cove Golf & Sports Club has been honoured specifically for its new, centrepiece golf course, which opened in early December 2013. Designed by Santa Rosa, California-based Golfplan, the new 18 holes at Anvaya Cove have already been hailed by media and course-raters as a front-runner for Asia’s top-new-course honours in 2014.
It earned the Asia Pacific Property Award in the super competitive Architecture category.
Prizes will be formally bestowed during the Asia Pacific Property Awards Summit and Awards Gala at the Shangri-La Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on May 8-9. It will then be revealed whether Anvaya Cove has earned the ‘Highly Commended’ or ‘Five Star’ designation.
Anvaya Cove and its developers at Ayala Land Premier will also learn, in early May, whether they will go on to compete for an even more prestigious International Property Award.
“The highest scoring Five-Star winners from each category of these awards will be automatically put forward for re-judging against the Five-Star winners from other regions of the world – Europe, Africa, Arabia, UK, Caribbean, Central & South America, Canada and the USA,” said Stuart Shield, President of the International Property Awards, who added that Asia Pacific regional winners have an enviable record of achievement at international level, having scooped a total of 18 World’s Best honours in 2013.
The new golf course at Anvaya Cove sits at the heart of the 470-hectare residential development, two hours northwest of Manila, where stately homes are nestled in distinct and secluded tropical neighbourhoods south of the Subic Bay Free Trade Zone.
Golf is merely the capstone amenity at this exclusive, seaside development, which is unique to the domestic Philippine market and uniquely alluring to international buyers/investors.
“With Anvaya Cove, we saw the opportunity to meet demand in the Philippine domestic market while also competing effectively in the international second-home market,” said Jose Juan Jugo, head of Ayala Land Premier, the residential wing of Ayala Land, one of the country’s most accomplished real estate developer and the commercial force behind Makati, Manila’s premier business and lifestyle district.
“We’ve already welcomed retired expats who’ve chosen to make Anvaya Cove their primary homes. With a golf course of this quality now in place, we anticipate further interest in this sort of investment – from what we see as a global market.”
Since its founding in 1972, Golfplan has designed more than 200 courses in 75 different countries – including The Club at Nine Bridges, in South Korea, one of only two modern Asian courses ranked on GOLF Magazine’s World Top 100.
While Anvaya Cove Golf & Sports Club’s perch on the West Philippine Sea is gorgeous, it was the architectural detail – courtesy of Golfplan partner Kevin Ramsey – that clearly resonated with the Asia Pacific Property Award panels.
