AGIF is pleased to announce IGCEMA (The International Golf Course Equipment Managers Association) has come on-board AGIF as its latest Supporting Member!
The equipment technician’s role has evolved over the years and with the increased demand, there are simply not enough skilled technicians available to meet the needs of every course. A conference call on 1 September 2006 gave rise to the idea to form the IGCEMA and on 1 January 2007, the first IGCEMA board was elected. Believing the golf course technician is an integral part to the success of any golf management team, the IGCEMA believes professionalism, standards, education and achievement should be recognised, nurtured and respected. It is the goal of the IGCEMA to grow this idea as they encourage more to join this profession. IGCEMA’s CEO Stephen Tucker said, “The IGCEMA is continuing to work on expanding our reach as an association and supporting allied associations around the world. The AGIF is a great organization and we are looking forward to working with them and sharing ideas in the future.”
