Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: Templer Park Country Club, boasting sweeping vistas of one of the most distinctive landmarks in Malaysian golf, has joined the Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF).
Set in the Templer Park forest reserve near Rawang in Selangor, with the Bukit Takun limestone hills as a spectacular backdrop, the club is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year.
Designed by Kentaro Sato with input from Japanese golfing great Masashi ‘Jumbo’ Ozaki, Templer Park is the venue for the AGIF Golf Business Leaders Tournament on October 27, part of the AGIF Annual International Summit.
Within nine years of opening for play in 1991, Templer Park hosted the Malaysian Open on three occasions – 1995, 1996 and 2000.
With tree-lined fairways, lakes and undulating terrain, the course stretches to more than 7,100 yards from the championship tees.
Easily accessible by car from Kuala Lumpur via the Kuala Lumpur to Rawang highway, golfers can unwind after their round in the relaxing onsen and jacuzzi, and enjoy a variety of food options from authentic Malaysian delights and Japanese dishes to Western favourites.
Rishi Narain, Head – Events, Sponsorship and Membership at the AGIF, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Templer Park as a Facility Member of the Federation.
“Frequently featured in polls about the top courses in Malaysia, Templer Park, with its breathtaking views of Bukit Takun, offers a unique golfing experience.
“I know that many of the delegates attending the AGIF Annual International Summit are looking forward to experiencing the course for themselves at the AGIF Golf Business Leaders Tournament.”
