Hong Kong SAR, China: A record-breaking sum of more than HK$5 million (about US$637,000) was raised at the 2026 Cup of Kindness, the Hong Kong Golf Club (HKGC)’s annual charity event, which has been supporting worthy causes in Hong Kong since 1987.
Under warm sunshine at Fanling, more than 300 golfers came together for a memorable day of competition across the Old, New and Eden Courses.
Every contribution, from tournament entry fees and raffle tickets to a silent auction and cash donations, went straight towards the fund. “A wonderful effort by all involved,” said a statement from the club.
The Cup of Kindness has now raised a total of over HK$95 million (about US$12.1 million) for Hong Kong-based charities, including the Home of Loving Faithfulness, a nearby residential care home in Sheung Shui for children and adults with mental and physical disabilities.
Once again, one of the main beneficiaries was Operation Santa Claus (OSC), the annual fund-raiser jointly organised by the South China Morning Post (SCMP) and Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK), which was awarded HK$1.5 million.
The club statement added: “We were delighted that Sister Pui Yee from the Home of Loving Faithfulness and Tse Hung-fei representing OSC could join us to celebrate this always special occasion and share their inspiring beliefs with us.
“A heartfelt thank you to everyone who gave so generously to the Cup of Kindness. You have made a real difference. Here’s to next year!”
