Singapore: The Singapore Island Country Club (SICC) has presented S$1.97 million in donations to 14 charitable organisations, including President’s Challenge, at its May Day Charity 2026 Cheque Presentation Ceremony.

The presentation marked the culmination of another meaningful chapter in one of SICC’s most cherished traditions. Themed ‘Uplifting the Underserved’, this year’s May Day Charity brought together members, staff, donors and partners in a shared commitment to supporting communities in need.

The 2026 campaign was anchored by the SICC May Day Charity Gala Dinner on May 1, graced by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Patron of SICC May Day Charity.

From April to June, a wide range of club-wide fund-raising activities were held, including charity golf tournaments, sports and lifestyle fraternity-led initiatives, racquet sports, aquatics and wellness activities, as well as a silent auction.

This year also saw SICC broaden its support through the inaugural ‘Donate & Drive’ campaign in aid of President’s Challenge.

The initiative which ran from April 8 to May 9 invited members, guests and the public to contribute towards a meaningful cause while standing a chance to win a brand-new GAC HYPTEC (Gullwing) electric vehicle, sponsored by VINCAR Group and valued at more than S$124,000, excluding COE. Every S$20 donated entitled contributors to one qualifying entry, while donations of S$300 received three additional bonus chances.

The campaign raised S$94,458.72, with the final draw held at the Island Clubhouse on May 9, where one lucky winner was selected. All proceeds were channelled to President’s Challenge, supporting its work with organisations that uplift aspirations and empower lives.

The introduction of ‘Donate & Drive’ extended SICC’s fund-raising efforts beyond its traditional May Day Charity activities while supporting a national movement that brings Singaporeans together to uplift those in need.

Since its inception in 1972, SICC May Day Charity has raised more than S$27 million for over 100 charitable organisations, supporting social service programmes and communities across Singapore.
