Singapore: Keppel Club has marked a milestone in the advancement of women’s golf by signing The R&A Women in Golf Charter, alongside the formalisation of a tri-partite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Singapore Golf Association (SGA) and the Singapore Ladies Golf Association (SLGA).
Held at Keppel Club, the signing ceremony underscores a shared commitment among the three organisations to promote greater inclusivity, increase participation, and create more opportunities for women in golf – both on and off the course.
Representing Keppel Club were Captain Anthony Maniam and Lady Captain Sandra Soon. They were joined by Ivan Chua, Vice President of the SGA, and Gillian Sim, President of the SLGA, in formalising the partnership.
The R&A Women in Golf Charter, developed by The R&A, aims to inspire positive change across the golfing landscape by encouraging organisations to support gender balance, foster inclusivity, and develop pathways for women to thrive in all aspects of the sport and industry.
Through the tri-partite MOU, Keppel Golf Club, SGA, and SLGA will collaborate on key initiatives designed to grow the women’s game in Singapore. These include grass-roots development programmes, enhanced competitive opportunities, mentorship and leadership pathways, as well as industry engagement to support women pursuing careers in golf.
This partnership reflects a unified vision to not only increase female participation at all levels but also to empower women within the broader golfing eco-system – spanning players, administrators, coaches, and industry.
