Delhi, India: A stalwart of the region’s golfing industry for more than four decades, Rishi Narain has been inducted into the Indian Golf Hall of Fame.

Head – Events, Sponsorship, and Membership at the Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF), Narain was honoured during a gala function coinciding with the launch of the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) league that tees-off this week.

Hosted by cricket legend and PGTI President Kapil Dev, the function was attended by more than 300 players and sponsors, including notable dignitaries Pawan Munjal, Chairman, Hero MotoCorp, and Jay Shah, Chairman, International Cricket Council.

“I’m honoured to be named to the Hall of Fame of Indian Golf. To receive this at such a pivotal moment – with the launch of the new PGTI league and in the company of legends like Kapil Dev and visionaries like Pawan Munjal – is truly a career highlight,” said Narain, an Asian Games gold medallist for India in the 1980s and a professional golfer in the 1990s.

Since the turn of the century, he’s been a key figure in many areas of the Indian golf industry, including publishing, player management and event promotion and management.

In January 2025, Narain enjoyed a second successful stint as non-playing Captain of the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC) Bonallack Trophy team in the biennial Ryder Cup-style match play event against the European Golf Association in the United Arab Emirates.

Narain assumed his post with the AGIF early last year.
